This is Spike, his registered name is "Starwind's Parti like a Rock Star". Spike came to us from TyTan's Parti Poodles in Louisiana. Spike is UKC and AKC Registered Standard Poodle.

Spike is a black/white Tuxedo Parti with great style and personality. He might look like a fluffy lap dog but be is all boy and loves to parti and get dirty with the best of them. We're having lots of fun with our Poo, he usually travels with us most places and run around our property chasing rabbits and birds.

The parti color was common in Poodles and is well documented by numerous paintings and drawings from the 1700s and 1800's. Sometime around the turn of the 20th century, Poodle clubs in England and the United States chose to prohibit all but solid-colored Poodles in the conformation ring.  There are no written reasons given for this decision, it is believed that it was done simply at the whim of those in power at the time. However, multi-colored Poodles are experiencing a strong comeback in the United States. Parti colored Poodles can be shown in conformation classes in the (UKC) United Kennel Club. Partis can also be registered with the American Kennel Club and shown in all classes *except* conformation. We look forward to the day when AKC accepts parti's in the conformation ring.
